Deep Silver Dambuster Studios have an exciting opportunity within their highly talented and experienced art department for a Senior Environment Artist. You will be joining the team working on the next game in the widely successful Dead Island series.   • Work autonomously to create outstanding photorealistic environments respecting the engine limitations.
  • Understand and follow style guides to guarantee the consistency of the game.
  • Working as part of a team to produce a single goal.

  • Work within inter-disciplinary teams of Artists and Designers.
  • The ability to take ownership of specific pieces of content and provide adhoc instruction to others.
  • Ability and willingness to accept and follow direction, and receive constructive criticism.
  • Complete all tasks in a timely manner and to a consistent high quality standard.
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow professionally.

All Artists must demonstrate in their portfolio:

  • Keen eye on detail and realism.
  • Creation of highpoly assets and then their conversion to an in game resolution.
  • A clear understanding of the normal mapping process.
  • A strong understanding UV layout and how to get the best of your textures.
  • Perspective for the overall scene and the bigger picture for the current task.
  • Well structured composition within work shown.
  • Examples of lighting and how to make the most of the assets you create.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Expertise with 3d modelling software, 3ds Max and Maya preferred.
  • Fully up-to-date with current generation texturing processes, tools and workflows.
  • Good communication skills and a great team-player attitude.
  • Ability to contribute innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of game production and development.


  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 and the according toolset.
  • Traditional painting and drawing skills.
